Preparing the fuel-oil mixture correctly

Gasoline trimmers with a two-stroke power unit receive the necessary lubrication along with the fuel. The quality of the preparation of the mixture largely determines the long maintenance-free operation of the tool. Some models come with a special cooking container with marked markings, but if it is missing, it's okay. You will need an empty container (an ordinary glass jar or bottle is best, but PET food packaging is dangerous because it is easily electrified and can cause a fire) and a medical syringe with at least 20 cubes. Now do the following:

  • Pour 500-1000 ml of fuel from the canister into the prepared container.
  • Draw up the required amount of oil with a syringe and add to gasoline.

Almost no stirring is required. The oil is squeezed out of the syringe with good pressure, and the subsequent filling into the fuel tank will additionally mix the mixture. The main thing is to perform the procedure away from open sources of fire and as carefully as possible.

The proportions of the fuel-oil mixture for two-stroke trimmers

Accurate dosage of oil is a guarantee of reliable operation of the trimmer. Some Chinese manufacturers recommend a 1:25 ratio, but brands such as Husqvarna or the impeccable Stihl directly recommend pouring oil in a 1:50 ratio. On our own behalf, we can say that the recommendations of the Chinese comrades are quite relevant in the first hours of the trimmer operation - in the process of running in, all rubbing pairs are lapped, and excess lubrication will not be superfluous. But when the device has already been run in and works “at full”, it is better to observe the generally accepted proportions. For ease of calculation, we suggest using a small table. It can even be printed and pasted on a container of oil so as not to waste time counting in the future. At the same time, never prepare the mixture with a margin - it is better to make small portions that are guaranteed to be worked out.

Why isn't the type of oil listed on Husqvarna?

2-Takt-Motoroil is still a great oil. It mixes well with fuel, protects equipment from corrosion and does not smoke when burned.

I agree, really good German semi-synthetics for garden equipment with 2T engines. Although I also tried other oils from Liquid Moli, I was also pleased with the result.

It is strange that oil from the Liquid Moli garden program did not make it to the top. In terms of price and quality, this is one of the best options. I have personally been pouring oil for 2-stroke engines from Liquid Moli into the trimmer for 6 years now and, as they say, "flight is normal."
