The Chinese company Xiaomi has introduced a new tablet. The device turned out to be very compact, but at the same time, under its body there was a place for a large amount of memory and a powerful processor. But the main distinguishing feature of the device is the display refresh rate increased to 120 Hz.

Let's start with the main feature of the "tablet". It lies in an excellent 11-inch display. IPS technology was used to create it, while the manufacturer managed to implement support Dolby Vision and HDR10. Because of this, on such a tablet you want to watch exceptionally high-quality content, in the creation of which the above-mentioned technologies were used. Also, nothing bad can be said about the resolution of 2560x1600 pixels. The main advantage of such a display is the increased refresh rate up to 120 Hz. This makes the picture as smooth as possible, which is noticeable not only in games, but also during normal browsing of Internet pages. After this, I don’t want to return to the usual 60 Hz at all.
Components
The device was created on the basis of an eight-core processor Snapdragon 860 and graphics accelerator Adreno 640. Not a top solution, but it allowed to reduce the cost of new items. And it should be admitted that the power reserve of the chip is quite enough even to run games, albeit not at the maximum graphics settings. And Android 11 and regular programs work without any problems at all.
"Pill" received 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of non-volatile memory. However, the second version of the tablet also came to online stores, where the volume of the latter was increased to 256 GB. The choice is difficult, because there is no microSD card slot. As well as a fingerprint scanner, the Chinese chose to save on this. But the manufacturer was generous with four speakers, thanks to which there are no complaints about the sound.

The tablet is rarely used for photography. In this regard, their manufacturers rarely pay special attention to cameras. However, on the back of the Xiaomi Pad 5 there is a quite good dual module, complemented by a bright LED flash. The resolution of the main matrix is 13 megapixels (the second is used to blur the background).Not an extreme parameter, but this is enough for high-quality photography in bright light. But hope for more, of course, is not worth it.
If we talk about video shooting, then it is carried out in 4K resolution. And this is not the case when the tablet writes a picture with the same frequency that the LCD display can boast of (unless the resolution is lowered). Again, there is nothing to worry about, since a very small percentage of buyers will use a 511-gram device for video shooting.
The device also has a barely noticeable front-camera. Its resolution is 8 MP.
Functional
Android 11 is installed on the tablet, supplemented by the proprietary MIUI V12 shell. The feature set here is identical to those present in Xiaomi smartphones released after 2020. Communication with the router is carried out using a high-speed standard WiFi 802.11ac, so you can watch content online even in high definition. Headphones are connected either through an adapter (among the connectors there is only USB Type-C), or via Bluetooth 5.0LE.
The tablet received neither an NFC chip nor an FM radio. But he, in fairness, does not need them. Of its special features, we note Smart Pen supportfixed on the side with magnets. However, it is not found in the kit - the accessory must be purchased separately. As well as a keyboard, if one is suddenly needed.

This device will be called Mi Pad 5 out of habit for a long time, forgetting that in 2021 Xiaomi completely abandoned the “Mi” prefix. However, it doesn't matter.
