1. Design
Outwardly, the mice are significantly different from each other.Even one of the most expensive mice in our comparison is not some unusual transformer monster. No, the Logitech G Pro X, when turned off, is no different from much cheaper manipulators. I am glad that its design is symmetrical. This means that even a left-handed person can use the device. It's sad that there is no dpi toggle button here. Therefore, you can change the resolution of the sensor only in the appropriate software. There are only two additional buttons on the side of this mouse. For some this will definitely not be enough. And the only RGB LED is not what you expect from a gamer's paddle. Finally, we note that the product exists in black and white body colors.
The Razer product, which is no less expensive, has a slightly more unusual shape. But even he is not felt by the palm, as if it were a foreign body. And this mouse can also be used by left-handers. On the sides of this device are two additional buttons. This should suit most of our readers! Another product boasts perfect balance. Indiscriminately and do not understand where the battery is hidden here. Atypical switches are also used here - they are optical (the clicks turned out to be very quiet). The manufacturer has not forgotten the dpi change button, which can also switch profiles at the same time - you should look for it on the bottom, where there is also a compartment for the radio connector.
Name | Dimensions | The weight | Switches |
ASUS ROG Chakram | 133x77x43mm | 122 g | Omron |
Logitech G Pro X Superlight | 125x64x40mm | 63 g | Omron |
Razer Viper Ultimate | 127x66x38mm | 74 g | Optical |
SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless | 121x67x38mm | 96 g | Mechanical |
The SteelSeries mouse also has a symmetrical design. It is rare that mechanical switches are used with this product. They produce a highly visible sound (comparable to Omron buttons) and have a lifespan of 60 million clicks. Two additional buttons are found on the left side. There is another one under the wheel - by default it is used to change the resolution of the sensor. Only the scroll wheel is highlighted here - the RGB LED is located somewhere inside. The manufacturer clearly saved on this.
ASUS differs in that it is the only mouse that is not suitable for left-handers. But on the other hand, it has a unique collapsible design. The panels of the left and right buttons are easily removed here, as they are held on by magnets. Using the complete key, you can remove the switches, and then install others. The top panel is also removed here - you can store a radio receiver under it. And a special complete part is inserted here, on which you can draw whatever you want (instead of the company logo, which is by default). Another important difference between the device and its competitors is the presence of a thumb-operated joystick. The bottom looks no less interesting, on which you can find not only a switch for changing the type of connection to a PC, but also a dpi button. Three RGB LEDs are responsible for the illumination.
Finally, it is impossible not to note the weight of the manipulators. The lightest is the Logitech product. This is an indisputable plus, because while playing some kind of shooter, it will seem to you that you are only moving your palm, in which there is nothing. As for the build quality, in all four cases it is the best. Only ASUS has slightly dangling main keys, but this is due to the ability to quickly remove them.

2. Equipment
The buyer will find in the box not only a mouseWe spent so much time on the design, but said nothing at all about the package. In all cases, it includes not only a gaming mouse, but also a USB receiver. It is he who provides the fastest wireless communication method, when the delay is not felt at all. And in this way it is recommended to connect any of the mice we are considering to a computer. Although some of them support another method, which is usually used when using a manipulator paired with a tablet, smartphone, or, say, a TV. However, more on that later.
The Razer Viper Ultimate has the most interesting package. The buyer will find in the box a stand that acts as a docking station. When you leave the room, you can put the mouse in it so that the battery is slightly charged. Of course, the docking station wire must be connected to the USB port of the computer or network adapter.
You can also note the box in which the ASUS product is shipped. It will contain a cover. Thus, the manufacturer hints that his manipulator can be carried somewhere with him - such movements will not affect his appearance in any way.And the buyer will also receive a case in which there are two interchangeable Omron switches and other goodies.
3. Connection
Synchronization methods with PC and other equipmentNot all mice in this comparison are completely wireless. The fact is that with their use in this way, there is still some delay, albeit imperceptible to an ordinary person. That is why Logitech and ASUS support the wired connection method. There are no complaints about the quality of the cable. Its length should also be enough in most cases.

The device from ASUS is unique in that it supports as many as three types of connection. With the appropriate switch, the gaming mouse can be switched to Bluetooth mode. This allows you to operate the manipulator paired with any portable device. And this method will also appeal to the owner of a TV on which, for example, the Android TV operating system is installed. SteelSeries also has a built-in Bluetooth module. The remaining two manipulators use only their own radio standard in wireless mode.

4. Sensor
What are the capabilities of the sensor? All the mice we reviewed use a different sensor. No wonder, because this design element, unlike buttons, is usually not ordered on the side. A gaming mouse differs from a regular mouse in that it allows you to change the resolution of the sensor. As mentioned above, some models allow you to do this right while playing some kind of shooter, for which the corresponding switch is intended. Logitech is lagging behind in this regard, since this manipulator offers to use exclusively proprietary software for this. But it is this mouse that offers the highest resolution. However, who needs 25600 dpi? With this parameter, even a slight movement of the manipulator leads to the fact that the cursor flies from one corner of the screen to the opposite.
Name | Min. permission | Max. permission | Max. acceleration |
ASUS ROG Chakram | 100dpi | 16000dpi | 40g |
Logitech G Pro X Superlight | 100dpi | 25600dpi | 40g |
Razer Viper Ultimate | 400dpi | 20000dpi | 50g |
SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless | 100dpi | 18000dpi | 40g |
In a word, you already understood that in terms of the sensor, all devices are approximately equal. And, to be honest, the measurements show that even with a lower sensor resolution, the Raiser mouse is able to digest large accelerations. And do not be confused by the 16000 dpi resolution of ASUS. This value is enough for the vast majority of gamers.

5. ON
We evaluate the functionality provided by the proprietary applicationEach mouse has its own program. More precisely, it is intended for all peripherals manufactured by the manufacturer. For example, you will already have an app from ASUS installed if you use a keyboard that belongs to the ROG series. At the same time, the Taiwanese offer two driver options, depending on which version of Windows is installed on the computer.Of course, for the "ten" is a more versatile version. Here you can reassign absolutely all buttons and both directions of scrolling. Also, access to record not only ordinary commands, but also macros. In total, you can create up to three profiles, which are then stored in the mouse's memory. The joystick located on the side is also configurable in every possible way. It also implements a more precise adjustment of the sensor resolution, in increments of 100 dpi. Polling frequencies are also available to choose from. You can even customize the button response delay! No less useful is the color indication of the current battery charge, which can also be activated in this application. Perhaps, on this we will limit the story about proprietary software, otherwise it will drag on for a long time.
As for the G Hub from Logitech, a couple of years ago it was a mediocre program. Now the arsenal of its capabilities has expanded significantly. Here you can change the resolution of the sensor, while using a step of only 50 dpi. You can also change the polling frequency and record macros (it is through this function that you can still get the ability to change the sensor resolution on the fly). You can also change the functionality of any of the buttons. But don't expect anything more with the G Hub and this mouse.
Raiser also does not make sense to use without proprietary software. In it, you can set the sensitivity of the sensor, calibrate the mouse (useful if it is used on an uneven surface), configure the RGB backlight, change the functionality of all buttons and the scroll wheel, and also set the behavior of the mouse when the charge drops to a certain value.
Perhaps the SteelSeries Engine 3 utility looks more boring than the rest. But its functionality is also not bad. Here you can reassign buttons with a scroll wheel, record macros, and adjust energy efficiency. Many settings are supplemented with graphics that will appeal to an advanced gamer. But when using this application, you still get the feeling that something is missing. It is no accident that this manipulator is cheaper than the Raiser product and other competitors.
6. autonomy
How long is the charger not needed?Estimating the battery life of SteelSeries is almost impossible. It all depends on which batteries or accumulators you install. If they are of high quality, then you can count on 400 hours. However, this figure is correct for working in power saving mode, in which most of the "goodies" are disabled, for which the game controller is purchased. Therefore, we would advise you to count on 30 hours of continuous operation. That's about two weeks of playing four hours a day.
It has already been said above that Razer comes with a docking station that charges the built-in battery. But an even more interesting solution is implemented by ASUS ROG Chakram. You can purchase a gaming pad from the same series, which will charge the manipulator wirelessly! That's just such a purchase will cost 13 thousand rubles - the cost of the mouse itself! Therefore, it is better to do charging with a complete cable. In the case of both mice, this process is not required every day.
Name | Power type | Dock station | Wireless charger |
ASUS ROG Chakram | Battery | - | + (Qi) |
Logitech G Pro X Superlight | Battery | - | - |
Razer Viper Ultimate | Battery | + | - |
SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless | AAA | - | - |
It's hard to say anything special about Logitech. It also uses its own battery, charging is also carried out by connecting the appropriate cable. The process is also required much more often than when using batteries.
7. Price
Price is an important factor in choosing a mouseLike many other gaming devices, these manipulators have a horse price tag. Especially with the current dollar exchange rate. ASUS asks the most. No wonder, because her mouse is the best addition to a powerful computer, because the device has an extremely unusual design, complemented by a joystick. If they also included a mat with wireless charging in the kit, it would be absolutely wonderful.

ASUS ROG Chakram | RUB 14,590 |
Logitech G Pro X Superlight | RUB 12,890 |
Razer Viper Ultimate | RUB 12,790 |
SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless | 5 590 rub. |
Not much cheaper - a manipulator from Logitech. And this is the case when the product has the worst price-quality ratio. Unlike SteelSeries. Yes, this manipulator does not have such wide capabilities, but it shows itself perfectly in shooters and games of other genres, and at the same time, they don’t ask for the biggest money for it. All this makes it an excellent choice!

8. Comparison results
Who is declared the winner? We dare to name the best wireless gaming mouse created by ASUS. This is a unique product, which in many ways has no equal. Yes, its sensor is not able to surprise with a record resolution, but most gamers do not need it. Otherwise, the manipulator leaves behind the best impressions. Especially if it is used by a right-hander.The device will offer a joystick, and rich settings, and a high-quality build, and even support for Qi wireless charging (in fact, you don’t need to use an appropriate mat for this). You can only complain about a small number of additional buttons - they are not on the right side.
Buying a mouse from Razer can be no less successful. Especially if you are not going to use such an accessory paired with a TV or tablet. If you do not want to spend a huge amount, then you can think about SteelSeries. This is also a very worthy product that can also work in Bluetooth mode.
