1. Design
Choosing the most stylish steamerThe design of the steamer does not affect functionality and convenience, but makes it more enjoyable to use. In our subjective opinion, the MIE model looks the most interesting. Glossy body, a combination of black and orange color - the device is bright, attracts attention. The design of the Tefal steamer is well developed. Laconic shape, white color complemented by blue details - the model looks nice, will fit into any interior. Kitfort looks stylish, modern, differs from other steamers in a sharper shape. Philips looks simple, but at the same time interesting due to the "stand" for the case. Polaris doesn't attract attention in any way. The device is made simply and even a little rough.
2. Power
What steamer can handle thick fabrics?According to the characteristics and customer reviews, the Kitfort steamer can be called the best in power. It heats up longer than the rest of the comparison participants, but only because of the large volume of the water tank. High power guarantees a constant supply of hot steam. Tefal and Polaris have the same power. But Polaris heats water faster and feels more powerful to users. The next two models with approximately the same power are Philips and MIE. Mia has a slightly smaller one, but Philips buyers feel weaker.
Name | Power | Water heating time |
Philips GC516/20 | 1600 W | 60 sec |
Kitfort KT-960 | 2200 W | 120 sec |
Tefal IT2460 | 1800 W | 45 sec |

Polaris PGS 1820VA | 1800 W | 35 sec |

3. Equipment
It is included in the kit?In terms of configuration, the steamers are approximately the same. The set with the device always comes with a vertical stand, a brush for cleaning and ironing clothes. Most often, the package includes a special clip for the formation of arrows on trousers. For all comparison models, except for the Polaris steamer, a hanger for steaming clothes and a mitten to protect hands from hot steam are attached to the device. Kitfort is distinguished by the presence of a universal nozzle in the kit. It can be used as a flat iron, a brush for cleaning clothes or upholstered furniture and an arrow clip.

Good solution for delicate fabrics
4. Smoothing quality
Which model steams faster and better?Kitfort, MIE and Polaris deliver equally powerful steam up to 45g/min. This means that they will easily cope with the smoothing of thick, dense fabrics. These three steamers differ in the number of modes. MIE has three, Polaris has two. In Kitfort, the steam supply power is not regulated, which in fact turns out to be a big drawback. The model will cope with serious creases on clothes, but delicate fabrics do not need such an amount of steam. Tefal delivers up to 37 g/min. This is also a good indicator. The steam power here is regulated in two positions. Philips can work in five modes, but it goes to the last place in terms of smoothing quality. The reason is that the maximum steam flow is only 32 g / min, users complain that the device can only cope with delicate fabrics. Even a regular T-shirt takes about 10 minutes to iron.
Name | steam flow | Number of operating modes |
Philips GC516/20 | 32 g/min | 5 |
Kitfort KT-960 | 45 g/min | 1 |
Tefal IT2460 | 37 g/min | 2 |

5. Ease of use
Evaluate design features and ease of useTo evaluate the convenience of each of the steamers, we suggest paying attention to such parameters as the volume of the tank, the length of the hose and the operating time on one inlet of water. Let's compare these characteristics with customer reviews for an objective comparison. In all respects, the MIE steamer comes out on top.The convenience of the model is due to the optimal size of the 1.8-liter tank, continuous operation for up to an hour at medium power. Users find the design convenient, the length of the hose is enough, the assembly is neat. Quite easy to use model from Tefal. It has a triangular shape. The pointed spout reaches into hard-to-reach areas for easy steaming. Clothes hangers are foldable, making the appliance more compact for storage. The volume of water is enough for 40 minutes of continuous operation. The inconvenience is delivered only by a slightly leaking tank.
Kitfort also pleased users with a well-thought-out design. Especially like the model for those who need to steam a large number of clothes. Kitfort is equipped with a three-liter water tank. At the only maximum power, it lasts for 55 minutes of operation. The design is stable, a constant stream of steam quickly smoothes even complex fabrics. But in this model there is a problem with the flow of the tank. Philips would be comfortable if not for some design features. The hose is hard and unyielding, the nozzle is smooth and slips out of the holder, which makes the use of the device unsafe. The Polaris is inconvenient due to the low stand, short steam hose and flimsy nozzle holder.
Name | Water tank volume | Time of continuous work | Steam hose length |
Philips GC516/20 | 1.6 l | 45 min | 1.5 m |
Kitfort KT-960 | 3 l | 55 min | 1.5 m |
Tefal IT2460 | 1.5 l | 40 min | 1.5 m |

Over the past month, the name of the model was entered into the Yandex search box 650 times. At the same time, the device has a lot of positive reviews. Most often, the reviews mention the large capacity of the tank, steaming power, and ease of use. In second place in terms of the number of requests Philips. There are many reviews, but among them there are often negative ones. Buyers consider the model not the most convenient, complain about low power, poor ironing quality.
Often interested in the Polaris steamer. But there are not many reviews about it. Perhaps potential buyers are deterred by user comments about the uncomfortable short hose. But the rest of the reviews are not so bad. Many buyers are completely satisfied with the model. Tefal and MIE are not popular. They look for them on the Internet infrequently, they leave few reviews. But users like MIE more. The model is valued for the convenience and quality of steaming things.

8. Comparison results
Summing up, we announce the winnerThe wins in the nominations were divided between two participants in the comparison - Kitfort and MIE. They also scored the highest overall score. Kitfort has a slightly higher rating. It's a powerful steamer that can handle even the toughest thick fabrics, so it deserves the top spot. MIE stands out for its ease of use and quality of steaming, but in some stores it costs more than we would like.
In third place was the Tefal steamer. He did not become a winner in any category, but proved to be a convenient and quite powerful device. Polaris and Philips scored almost the same, but at a higher cost, Philips has low power and smoothes things worse, so it falls into the last line. Polaris is not a perfect model, but its shortcomings are partly compensated by the power.
