The choice in favor of winter non-studded tires, as a rule, is made by those owners who operate the car mostly in the city and do not want to give up comfortable driving (tires with metal grips produce a significant noise level).

The article will consider the best models of the so-called Velcro (friction tires, the tread of which literally “sticks” to the road due to the softness of the rubber and the increased number of sipes). The rating was compiled on the basis of the characteristics declared by the manufacturer, expert assessments obtained experimentally and, of course, based on the opinions and experience of the owners. For the convenience of the reader, the review has been divided into several categories.

    machine gunner,
I’ve been riding Velcro for two years now, I don’t need any spikes, I really don’t have my Velcro here, I have Pirelli ice zero fr, with a friction tread, they hold perfectly on ice. There were spikes, but I really didn’t like the noise coming from them.
  2. machine gunner
    Denis,
It is clear that the spike is better, just if you don’t always drive on ice, why do you need them, they make noise, they glide on asphalt, it’s still comfortable to ride on Velcro.
  3. Denis
I don’t know if the Velcro somehow keeps the car on the ice no worse than a spike. Well, let it go well on the reel, but I won’t believe it on ice.
