There is no definite leader in the selection, since almost each of its models is authentic in its own way. The only thing that unites the selected smartphones is the top filling, support for all modern communication and data transfer standards (5g, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth version 5), excellent quality and, of course, high expert ratings. Most of the phones presented here are flagships, and their company is only slightly diluted with mid-range devices, which, in our opinion, deserve to compete for the title of the best along with their older brothers.
Top 10. Xiaomi 12 Pro 8/128 Gb
As usual, Xiaomi is one of the best-selling flagship phones.
- Estimated cost: $740
- Country: China
- Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
- Screen: AMOLED, 6.73″
- Cameras (main / front): 50 + 50 + 50 MP / 32 MP
- Battery: 4600 mA
The only smartphone in the ranking that was released last year (December 31). But in anticipation of the Ultra version, this is Xiaomi's best and latest flagship to date. It appeared on sale in March and, as usual, is in popular demand. It's not just about the price, it's also about the top features: a powerful chipset, fast charging, and a very good screen with a high pixel density. It's a pity, but this time the cameras didn't impress the DxOMark experts, scoring a modest 131 points, which is less than even the Huawei p40 pro. Perhaps the situation will change with the release of Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which, according to rumors, is being developed by the company together with Leica.
- Good price
- Screen WQHD +, 521 ppi
- Support wireless charging 50W and reverse 10W
- No microSD slot and 3.5-jack
- Lack of dust and moisture protection
Top 9. iPhone SE 2022 4/64 Gb
Apple's new inexpensive SE on the powerful A15 Bionic in a compact body but with an outdated design.
- Estimated cost: $429
- Country: USA
- Processor: A15 Bionic
- Screen: IPS, 4.7″
- Cameras (main / front): 12 MP / 7 MP
- Battery: 2018 mAh
An ambiguous smartphone from the Cupertians. On the one hand, it is the most budgetary of Apple's new products and will definitely appeal to fans of compact displays. On the other hand, the bezels around the screen are embarrassing, the ratio to the body is only 65.4%, and the design is very reminiscent of the iPhone 6. The main advantage of the device, in addition to its miniature size, is its “super brain” A15 Bionic, which, in addition to its recognized power and energy efficiency, is able to programmatically bring photos to very good result. Those who managed to test the smartphone compare them with pictures of the iPhone 13 in good light. Of the other "needs" - IP67, stereo speakers, fast charging (20W) and 3 memory versions - 64, 128 and 256 GB.
- compactness
- Advanced Processor
- Affordable price
- No Face ID
- Large bezels around the screen
Top 8. Black Shark 5 Pro 12/256 Gb
An updated flagship for gamers with a new Qualcomm processor at an attractive price.
- Estimated cost: $740
- Country: China
- Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
- Screen: AMOLED, 6.67″, FHD+
- Cameras (main / front): 108 + 13 + 5 MP / 16 MP
- Battery: 4650 mAh
One of the cheapest gaming phones. The older version 16/512 GB will cost almost $900, the younger 8/256 – $661. Not a bad price for a gaming model with the latest Qualcomm processor. The only pity is that Xiaomi did not bother to install a slot for memory cards. Top hardware, latest processor, fast charging (120W), hardware triggers, liquid cooling system, 144 Hz screen, good cameras. Perhaps there are no super global innovations. Is that a custom SharkEye RGB backlight on the back of the case and more than a million points in Antutu.
- Side physics game triggers
- Acceptable price
- No wireless charging
- No 3.5 audio jack
Top 7. Samsung s22 Ultra 12/256 Gb
The novelty of the year with the latest Exynos processor on board in a chic rugged case, reminiscent of the Note20 Ultra in appearance.
- Estimated cost: $1,616
- Country: South Korea
- Processor: Samsung Exynos 2200
- Screen: AMOLED, 6.8″, FHD+
- Cameras (main / front): 108 + 10 + 10 + 12 MP / 40 MP
- Battery: 5000 mAh
If the design of Samsung this time did not impress, then the materials of execution delight. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ screen and back panel (now you can drop your phone from a height of two meters) and a solid aluminum frame, and finally IP68, of course, to swim with it for half an hour without heart attacks. I wonder if the Samsung s22 Ultra will survive the 20th floor drop test like the iPhone 13 Pro? We'll probably find out soon. The cameras are usually good: the main module Samsung ISOCELL HM3 108 megapixels, two telephoto lenses 10 megapixels (3x and 10x optical zoom), 8k video recording (24 frames per second) is available. The only major disadvantage of the device is the price. By the way, for such money it would be possible to add a charger to the kit.
- S Pen included
- High quality materials
- Fast charge 45W and reverse 15W
- Lack of spare parts from the box

Top 6. Samsung Galaxy A53 5G 6/128 Gb
The long-awaited update to the popular Samsung A-line.
- Estimated cost: $450
- Country: South Korea
- Processor: Samsung Exynos 1280
- Screen: AMOLED, 6.5″, FHD+
- Cameras (main / front): 64 + 12 + 5 + 5 MP / 32 MP
- Battery: 5000 mAh
The successor to one of the most popular and best-selling phones of last year. With a high probability, the A53 5G will also become a favorite of the middle segment. Yes, it is unlikely to be the best in the niche in terms of price and quality ratio, B-brands are developing too fast today. Nevertheless, 450 dollars for a world-famous name, a capacious battery, support for all networks, basic communication functions, complete with good cameras, is not such an exorbitant amount. What else pleases? A four-module camera unit with the main Sony IMX682 (64 MP, f/1.8) and an optical stub. And IP67 protection, for which the manufacturer can be forgiven for the lack of a 3.5-connector.
- Micro SD support
- Good cameras and stuffing
- Fast charge 25W
- No charger included
Top 5. Realme GT Neo 3 12/256 Gb
The first mass-produced smartphone with 150W charging and excellent performance.
- Estimated cost: $420
- Country: China
- Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 8100
- Screen: Amoled, 6.7
- Cameras (main / front): 50 + 8 + 2 MP / 16 MP
- Battery: 4500 and 5000 mAh
The race between phone manufacturers in terms of speed and power of charging continues. While Oppo is testing a 240W prototype, Realme quickly launched the GT Neo 3 with 150W support, which allows you to charge the gadget in 15 minutes. As they say, whoever did not have time, he was late. For those who are not looking for innovation, but are just looking for a good smartphone, there is a simpler and cheaper version, also with a large battery (5000mAh versus 4500) - 80W, 6/128GB configuration for only $315. A serious bid for leadership among sub-flagships. Especially considering that the MediaTek 8100 phone, with which it scored 809443 points in antutu Neo 3, has a chic 50-megapixel sensor from Sony with optical stabilization (f / 1.9 aperture) and an FHD + screen.
- Good photo and video capabilities
- budget
- No memory card slot
Top 4. Vivo X Fold 12/256 Gb
Vivo's first foldable phone with great cameras and top-of-the-line hardware.
- Estimated cost: $1,415
- Country: China
- Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
- Screen: FHD +, main 8″, external 6.53″
- Cameras (main / front): 50 + 48 + 12 + 8 MP / 16 MP - 2
- Battery: 4600 mAh
In the last couple of years, Vivo has made us nervous about its position as the main market leaders. This time, the company's novelty has become the main and serious competitor for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3. If the design issue can still be bypassed for its subjectivity, then at least the X Fold wins in a less pronounced inner screen crease, faster charging, a new processor and, most importantly, it is equipped with some of the best cameras. Primary (50 MP, f/1.8) with OIS - Samsung ISOCELL GN5, wide-angle 48 MP Sony IMX663, telephoto 8 MP Omnivision and portrait Sony IMX663 12 MP. There are two selfie cameras - 16 megapixels. Both LTPO screens deserve special attention, supporting refresh rates up to 120 Hz.
- Physical mute slider
- 2 built-in ultrasonic fingerprint scanners

Top 3. Oppo find X5 Pro 12/256 Gb
Oppo's latest flagship in two versions of competing processors from MediaTek and Qualcomm with an impressive neural engine.
- Estimated cost: $990
- Country: China
- Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
- Screen: Amoled, 6.7
- Cameras (main / front): 50 + 13 + 50 MP / 32 MP
- Battery: 5000 mAh
The flagships in 2022 are already hard to surprise with a ceramic case, water protection and fast charging. And, here, a super-neural processor of our own design, which also overtakes the Apple A15 Bionic module - this is really interesting. 18 TOPS vs. 15.8 TOPS of the competitor, plus high energy efficiency and fast image processing. Unveiled at INNO DAY 2021, the new NPU can finally be tested in practice in this year's first flagship from Oppo.Speaking of images, the smartphone has a Sony IMX766 main camera (ƒ/1.7) with a 2x zoom and support for optical stabilization. The second feature of the device is two modifications of processors: in addition to the Snapdragon 8 Gen1, the Oppo Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition was released with the top Dimensity 9000 on board, but it is not yet known whether it will be presented for the international market.
- High screen pixel density
- Powerful MariSilicon X NPU
- Fast charge 80W, wireless 50W, reverse 10W

- Screen: Amoled, 6.67
- Cameras (main / front): 64 + 50 + 8 MP / 16 MP
- Battery, fast charging: 5000 mAh (4600 mAh in Gravity version)
The first android smartphone with magnetic charging, but only the Gravity Edition version, which costs more than the usual one, received it - $ 675 (12/256 gb). However, this innovation is not as impressive as a completely new step in the photo capabilities of phones. For the first time, a lens with a focal length of 35 mm has been proposed to replace the usual 24 mm. At the time of this writing, the device has not yet got to the inquisitive specialists from DxOMark, but it will certainly claim the 1st line of their rating this year. The main camera is a novelty from Sony - IMX787, an 8 megapixel telephoto lens with a fivefold optical zoom and a 50 megapixel ultra wide-angle camera are additionally installed. Considering all the features of the new device, it can be called the best in terms of price-quality ratio.
- Budget flagship
- Magnetic charging
- No protection against water and dust
