Xiaomi once again decided to please lovers of powerful smartphones. She released POCO X3 Pro, a device that should be able to run games at high graphics settings. At the same time, buying a novelty should not affect the family budget too much. Let's find out what exactly it will please.
Design and display
For some time now, Xiaomi has been seriously thinking about the appearance of the designed devices. At least when it comes to the Black Shark line, which includes the most expensive smartphones. However, the company pays its attention to devices that come out under the POCO brand. This time, the Chinese have provided the rear panel of the novelty with a round block of cameras. Looks very elegant. Myself frame Made of plastic, it shimmers slightly in the sun. The POCO lettering stands out even more in good light. In a word, not bad, especially for such a price segment!
If you look at the front panel, then almost all of it is occupied IPS display. Its diagonal is 6.67 inches. A distinctive feature of the screen is the refresh rate increased to 120 Hz. It's nice when this parameter begins to be observed even in mid-budget devices. It is curious that the sensor polling rate reaches 240 Hz at all. This is sure to be appreciated by gamers playing online shooters. And Full HD+ resolution allows the processor not to strain too much. And this parameter is enough for comfortable viewing of videos and photos. Importantly, the screen is covered protective glass Gorilla Glass of the sixth generation.
The insides of a smartphone
And what is there "under the hood"? Since the device cannot be called very cheap, there was a place for an eight-core processor Snapdragon 860. An excellent solution that does not allow the device to slow down, no matter what applications are running. This also contributes to the volume random access memory, reaching at least 6 GB. As for the permanent memory, there are two versions of the smartphone, which included 128 and 256 GB. If you are not going to use a second SIM card, you can save money by inserting a removable drive instead.
What else contributes to a comfortable game? Of course, high-quality sound! With this, POCO X3 Pro is also all right. It is responsible for two fairly large dynamics. If you need to use headphones, then there will be no problems either, since there is a 3.5mm audio jack, which competitors prefer to forget about. Audio is transmitted to the wireless headset via bluetooth 5.0. Also among the wireless modules present here is WiFi 802.11ac, thanks to which the speed of downloading data for the most part depends only on the capabilities of your router. Is here and NFC, needed mainly for contactless payment for purchases.
At this point, it becomes unclear what the manufacturer saved on in order to achieve an adequate price tag. It looks like on fingerprint scanner. The Chinese did not introduce it into the display, using expensive technology for this. They placed it on the side power button. Not very comfortable, but you can get used to it.
cameras
As mentioned above, the device received a massive block, consisting of several cameras. Out of four, to be exact. The most important of them will please with a 48-megapixel resolution and a fairly wide aperture. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module produces an equally interesting result. As for the other two cameras, this is another point on which the Chinese manufacturer decided to save money. The first serves to determine the depth of the scene, and the second, although intended for macro photography, but its two-megapixel sensor leaves much to be desired.
Concerning front camera, they are at the top of the display. A barely noticeable circle awaits you, and not the already boring teardrop-shaped neckline. The resolution of its matrix is 20 megapixels. This is more than enough for creating beautiful selfies and for video communication.
And now let's thank the Chinese for using a powerful processor! The fact is that with its help, the function of simultaneous shooting from the rear and front cameras is implemented here.
Battery
The increased screen refresh rate also means faster power consumption. That is why the manufacturer had to provide his creation with a capacious battery. But 5160 mAh is not an outrageous parameter either. The Chinese stopped at it only because of the desire not to make their POCO X3 Pro too heavy, because otherwise, discomfort would definitely be felt during the game.
You don't have to worry about battery life. If you play on your smartphone only from time to time, then connecting the charger will be required only closer to the night or at least in the evening. Even if the screen will be updated 120 times per second in a constant mode (this parameter is easily reduced). What is not less important, charging the device will not take much time, since the power of the network adapter reaches an impressive 33 watts. Measurements show that the process lasts no more than an hour! And in just half an hour, the charge level gets to 59%.
It remains to be added that the network adapter is connected via USB Type-C. This means that the wire will only be inserted on the first try. Also, such a port is considered more reliable than the outdated micro-USB.
Summarizing
You can talk about the new product for a very long time, as the device received a number of interesting "chips". For example, inside it is a new generation vibration motor. But let's stop there. Is the device worth the money? It seems to us that only a positive answer can be given to this question. The buyer will have to put up with only the lack of full-fledged water protection (here it is implemented only according to the IP53 standard, which only indicates the absence of fear of splashes). Even an IPS display is difficult to complain about - some of the competitors will please with AMOLED technology, but at the same time upset with low resolution and refresh rate. In a word, POCO X3 Pro is one of the most inexpensive smartphones for gaming, the shortcomings of which are almost not felt.
