Moscow offers tens of thousands of apartments in any area, so a natural question arises - where is it better? Although the price is considered one of the main factors, it does not always reflect the real picture. The comfort of living consists of such indicators as location, distance from the center, metro stations, infrastructure and crime rate.

We have considered all the districts of Moscow to rank the best. Each position in the top stands out with something different, whether it's advanced entertainment centers, prestigious schools or large parks. We have tried to ensure that each represented area has standard amenities, and outlined the points that make it unique. When choosing accommodation with a child, it is recommended to pay attention not only to kindergartens and schools, but also to the population. There are few places in educational institutions in new districts, but there are enough young families.In the old ones, there are well-established social institutions, but not such a developed infrastructure.

The price per square meter in Moscow strongly depends on the proximity to the center. The eastern and western districts are closest to the most prestigious places in the capital, so the cost of housing is often very high. However, not every area near the center offers good infrastructure, security and silence, so the price is not an indicator of credibility.

10 Ramenki

Opens the rating of the best area Ramenki with universities that offer the most worthy education for schoolchildren and students. Within walking distance are the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade and Lomonosov Moscow State University. There are several dozens of kindergartens, lyceums and schools; private and state medical institutions have been set up next to the residential complexes. Ramenki regularly gets into the top 10 ecologically clean areas, because 25% of the territory is occupied by parks, ponds and forests. There are no industrial zones nearby, nothing pollutes clean air. The area itself is quite compact, everything can be reached on foot.

Prices in Ramenki lower than in most other areas, which distinguishes it from apartments in the center. However, residents warn that the infrastructure is not yet sufficiently developed, there is practically no entertainment. Developers promise to build a fitness center and several shopping complexes, but so far these are only plans. A significant disadvantage is the presence of psychiatric clinics and drug dispensaries near parks, the morgue is located nearby. Ramenki still developing, construction is actively going on, so the noise will haunt you in the mornings and evenings.You can't hear them in apartments, but you can't get away from them in parks.

9 Dorogomilovo

Dorogomilovo ranked second from the end in this top due to its convenient location. The main highways of the capital pass through the district: TTK, Kutuzovsky Prospekt and a couple of others. From several sides it is surrounded by the Moskva River, along which trees have been planted and a good road has been laid. Despite the proximity to the central regions, Dorogomilovo has a good environment thanks to the Victory Park. Any place in Moscow can be reached from one of 4 metro stations, and there are several large supermarkets and shopping centers on the territory. The old Dorogomilovsky market has also remained there, which, however, negatively affects the security of the area.

Most of all, Dorogomilovo will appeal to adults with plans to make a career. Moscow City is located nearby, the largest business centers and the huge Poklonka Place complex are very close. There is not much new housing, the secondary housing consists of gray five-story buildings. However, inside there are high ceilings, which you will not find in modern apartments. Despite the positives, we couldn't rank Dorogomilovo higher due to the high crime rate. The area was several times included in the top 10 most unsafe, although it was in last place. A huge number of cars drive along Dorogomilovo, which negatively affects air quality.

8 Fili-Davydkovo

Fili-Davydkovo is an established area with a developed infrastructure, including several large leisure centers, sports grounds and cultural attractions. Near each residential complex there are kindergartens, medical institutions (public and private), trade shops and several institutes. Fili-Davydkovo is also not deprived of a green zone: residents walk along the Setun River, relax in a large apple orchard and in Filevsky Park. There are several metro stations, bus and tram services. Residents note a large number of free parking spaces.

Fili-Davydkovo is located near the center, and there are very few new housing, no sounds of construction in the morning. There are also disadvantages in this: it is almost impossible to find a new apartment, only a resale. Housing prices are greatly inflated, but a massive demolition of dilapidated buildings is planned for 2019-2020, and new complexes will appear instead of them. The main disadvantage is the proximity of the railway, some apartments cannot escape the noise of passing trains. There are also traffic jams, but not as serious as in the center.

7 Tagansky

The well-deserved 7th place in the top is occupied by the Tagansky district, which represents the best infrastructure for families with children. There are several dozen kindergartens, schools, the famous Cadet Corps. The area is quite old, so many large Russian retailers have set their points there. The whole country knows about the Taganka Theater, besides it, the Moscow Children's Fairytale Theater, several cinemas and sports clubs are within walking distance.In general, the architecture of the area is a little strange: from old five-story buildings to modern skyscrapers. There are even several tenement houses of the 19th century and old churches.

Tagansky is one of the central districts where housing does not cost tens of millions. Apartments there are more expensive than most places, but still affordable. The market offers premium real estate and secondary housing. The area causes ambiguous impressions, so we could not put it in a higher position. On the one hand - a safe place, one of the oldest in Moscow, everything is at hand. On the other hand, there are huge traffic jams, the part behind the Soda Ring is an industrial zone with dirty air and a lack of greenery. Not to mention that the largest park in the area is the Kalitnikovskoe cemetery.

6 Yakimanka

Yakimanka appeared in the rating thanks to the silence and calmness, which is hard to find in the capital. At the same time, the area is located not far from Khamovniki (our leader), the center is only a few minutes by car. A third of Yakimanka is occupied by green areas and forests, including Neskuchny Garden, Gorky Parks and Muzeon Arts. In terms of the level of ecology, Yakimanka is not among the top three, but there are no large industries nearby. The area is considered one of the safest, tourists and immigrants settle in other places. The houses are located in such a way that there is a kindergarten, a shop and a school nearby. There is a huge cinema on Shabalovka that accommodates all the residents of the area. Yakimanka cannot boast of historical buildings, most of the houses are the usual gray five-story buildings and more modern complexes.

The area is actively developing, only 3 large-scale constructions are planned for 2019. Yakimanka already has shopping and entertainment complexes and sports stadiums for leisure activities, and in the future there will be even more of them. The prices for apartments are not too high, which is a definite plus. However, locals warn that it gets quite dark in the evening, and there are very few street lights. There are not enough parking spaces for everyone, some people leave cars on the lawn. Traffic jams also did not bypass the area, and in the evenings all roads freeze for several hours.

5 Arbat

In the middle of the top is the Arbat, which is known throughout the country for its sights. At every step, residents meet some kind of cultural or architectural monument. The Moscow Art Theater, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Hermitage, the Vakhtangov Theater - these are just a few names that are known to everyone. If you describe all the possibilities of cultural recreation with children or an adult company, you will have to fill out several pages. But there are kindergartens, schools, gymnasiums, hospitals, private medical centers and beauty salons on the Arbat. This area is especially advantageous for its transport infrastructure; any place in Moscow can be reached by metro or tram, not to mention bus stops every few hundred meters.

It would seem that the Arbat is an ideal place for those who have to pay several tens of millions for housing in the center. However, a huge number of noisy tourists, constant traffic jams and the lack of free parking spaces are familiar to anyone who has spent at least a week in this area.A significant disadvantage is the high level of crime - in 2016 alone, about 300 crimes were committed per thousand people. Arbat provides a unique opportunity to live in an elite apartment in the very center of the capital, but it is not an ideal place, especially for families with children.

4 Zyuzino

Zyuzino takes a worthy fourth place in the top due to the large green area. On the territory there are several parks, three ponds surrounded by forest, and a large river. It is pleasant to walk around the area, as the streets are surrounded by historical buildings, there are several old churches and other attractions. Zyuzino was built up a long time ago, it is favorably distinguished from others by an established infrastructure. There are 19 kindergartens, more than 10 schools, several clinics and pharmacies, a free and private hospital on the territory. At any time of the year, sports centers and a large water park await visitors. Everything is within walking distance for residents of most houses.

Not far from Zyuzino there is a large forest with a free sports ground and bike paths. We went through the reviews of the residents on the forums and found positive ratings for the nearby ski slopes, swimming pool and sports sections for children. Separately, the absence of traffic jams is noted (compared to other areas). Although Zyuzino deserved a place among the best, he also had disadvantages. Housing prices are greatly inflated, even taking into account the created conditions and the green zone. Some parts of the area are not yet completed, the sounds of construction will accompany the residents for several more years.

3 Strogino

The top three included Strogino, which is one of the most suitable places for the whole family to live. There are a large number of kindergartens, schools, clinics and hospitals on the territory. Developers have not forgotten about recreation either: residents visit several entertainment centers and cinemas. In summer, there is a public beach located near a large park. At any time of the year, sports complexes are open for visitors of all ages. On the opposite bank of the Moskva River, which surrounds Strogino, there is Serebryany Bor with the cleanest air, and a little closer - a public park. This area is one of the cleanest, second only to the leader of the top.

In addition to entertainment for all ages and a pleasant environment, Strogino can offer a calm and quiet environment. It has never been included in the top ten criminal districts, you can walk along the quiet streets day and night. In summer, residents ride along the Moskva River, in winter they ski in the park. For those who are thinking about buying an apartment, there are houses of different layouts and number of storeys to choose from, because the area has not yet been fully completed. It is planned to build housing complexes next to the existing ones. Of the minuses, residents note a very strong wind at any time of the year, especially in winter. Immigrants and settlers from poorer areas live in the old part of Strogino, so the situation there is somewhat gloomy.

2 Krylatskoe

Krylatskoe deserved a worthy second place thanks to a large number of entertainments for children of all ages. It is here that the largest sports complex in Europe is located, where all popular sports are available to children.If you don't feel like spending time in the building, you can ride the rowing canal, cycle track and cycle track, or gather friends and play football and volleyball in one of the many playgrounds. Sports schools operate in Krylatskoye, offering children to learn freestyle wrestling and cycling. The most talented and active are taken to the school of higher sportsmanship.

Of course, there is also the possibility of a relaxing holiday in Krylatskoye. On the territory there is a protected park Moskvoretsky, which includes several reserves and forestries. It will take more than one day to get around the entire territory! At the same time, the crime rate is extremely low. Half an hour walk through the park there is a natural spring, from which everyone can draw water. Despite the apparent idyll, the area has disadvantages that did not allow it to be put in the first place. There are no shopping centers in all of Krylatsky, you can’t walk to large stores on foot. There are no cinemas and entertainment for adults on the territory.

1 Khamovniki

We put Khamovniki in first place due to its unique environment for the capital and the presence of developed infrastructure. On three sides the district is surrounded by the Moskva River, inside there are 3 ponds and a large square Maiden's field. It is pleasant to walk in Khamovniki and look at various architectural monuments and ancient buildings, no gray five-story buildings and broken wooden houses. Even without a car, residents can get to any other area from 5 metro stations, many bus and tram stops. Of course, the main roads could not avoid the well-known problem of the capital - traffic jams, but they pass much faster than in other areas.

Houses in Khamovniki are located in such a way that the main entertainment and educational institutions can be reached on foot. Almost always in 10 minutes there is a school, a kindergarten, a grocery store or a pharmacy. For all the time of its existence, Khamovniki has never appeared in the top 10 criminal districts, the situation here is calm. It is suitable for both young couples and families with children, although there was also a significant minus. Khamovniki is considered an expensive location, so prices per square meter are very high. The average apartment costs about 45 million, which cuts off a large number of buyers.
