1. Handling on dry roads
Behavior in corners and driving on straight sectionsPirelli Scorpion Verde All Season with an asymmetric pattern and five longitudinal ribs, which give rigidity to the tread, demonstrates high sensitivity to steering movement and obedience at high speed. The GOODYEAR Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 SUV also performs well on dry roads in any temperature range. The directional pattern and tread features determine the tire's sufficient stiffness in the contact patch to ensure high handling on asphalt.
To match her and Kumho Solus HA31 - the tire is distinguished by excellent directional stability due to the central rib of the tread and elongated central blocks coming from it. The Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684II uses Flat Force Block technology, when the tread blocks are made of a compound with different properties. As a result, handling on bare pavement is excellent at any time of the year, but the nature of the pattern determines a slightly slower response to a change in the trajectory.
The Hankook Tire DynaPro ATM RF10 has a double reinforced nylon cord and a larger footprint tread with stepped grooves between the blocks. The latter feature increases stability in maneuvering on bare pavement, but in corners it requires driver control over the speed limit.

2. Noise level
Assessment of the noise level of wheel rotationAmong the participants in our comparison, tires from Kumho have the best comfort parameters at speed. The directional tread on the GOODYEAR Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 SUV is a bit noisier. At the same time, at urban speeds, its noise performance was lower than that of the previous participant. Thus, these two tires fairly divided among themselves the championship in the nomination. Unexpectedly, Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season took the third place. Rubber showed a happy medium in terms of generating noise during the operation of the wheel.
The aggressive tread pattern of the Bridgestone Dueler H/T forces you to choose between comfort and traction. At the same time, Hankook Tire DynaPro ATM RF10 definitely became the noisiest. When the wheel is spinning, the tread of this rubber at extremely low speeds is already comparable to the peak noise level of the nomination leader. It should be noted that the assessments of the acoustic characteristics of tires were formed on the basis of subjective comments of participants in independent tests from various publications that tested all-season tires.

3. Braking on wet pavement
What will be the braking distance on wet asphalt at near-zero temperaturesAt this stage of the comparison, we used the results of independent tests from different publications. For the convenience of the reader, the indicators of the participants are presented in the form of a table:
Tire brand | Braking distance from a speed of 100 km/h, m |
GOODYEAR Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 | 50,7 |
Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684II | 51,4 |
Hankook Tire DynaPro ATM RF10 | 52,6 |
Kumho Solus HA31 | 54,4 |
Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season | 54,9 |
Thus tires from GOODYEAR are in the lead. Bridgestone Dueler and Hankook DynaPro brake almost on a par with them on wet roads. With a serious backlog (a difference of about 4 m), participants from the Kumho and Pirelli brands close the comparative test.

4. Winter road grip
Tread characteristics in winter conditionsSmart TRED technology allows the GOODYEAR Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 SUV tread to adapt to different conditions. The V-shaped directional tread with 3-D sipes has several thousand edges, providing confident grip and precise control in the most difficult winter conditions.
A high percentage of silicon dioxide in the rubber compound and a large number of sipes in the tread of the Kumho Solus HA31 improve grip on slippery asphalt. The directional pattern and stiffness of the tread blocks eliminates course deviation and keeps the car well in sharp turns.
The Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684II has a tight tread pattern and several high-tech solutions in the rubber compound. Thanks to this, confident behavior on slippery asphalt is observed. In snow and mud conditions, massive shoulder blocks, which take on the function of the main lugs, give confidence.
Hankook Tire DynaPro ATM RF10 rubber has an aggressive winter tread pattern. It has a powerful shoulder area, wide drainage channels, and irregularly shaped blocks are abundantly covered with 3-D lamellas. Reinforced cord is resistant to deformation - the tire perfectly keeps a given course on any surface.
The asymmetrical pattern of the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season delivers high performance on snowy roads. The five ribs of the tread are separated by wide water channels, which ensures precise maneuvering. At the same time, the outer three rows of blocks are more rigid, which, coupled with cross-shaped sipes, gives excellent grip in the longitudinal direction.
As a result of the assessments of the pilots who tested the tires in winter road conditions, all tires showed high grip characteristics in difficult weather conditions. On this basis, it was decided to award each participant the highest score in this nomination - the all-season tires participating in our comparison turned out to be more than worthy rivals, showing excellent "tenacity" with the road in winter conditions.

5. Roll forward (economy)
The tests were carried out on standard asphalt pavement.Efficiency parameters directly affect not only the cost of operating a car, but also the acceleration dynamics. For convenience, we provide a summary table of the amount of rolling for medium-sized crossovers for the tires participating in the comparison.
Tire brand | Coasting distance on a horizontal surface at a speed of 15 km/h, m |
GOODYEAR Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 | 32,0 |
Kumho Solus HA31 | 27,9 |
Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season | 26,2 |
Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684II | 26,3 |
Hankook Tire DynaPro ATM RF10 | 23,6 |
The indicators cannot be considered ideal, since the tests by the Hungarian Autonavigator did not take into account the forces of the crosswind. However, the parameters are collected in the same conditions, which clearly shows the free run of the tires. The most economical can be safely considered GOODYEAR Vector 4Seasons Gen-2. Tires Kumho, Pirelli, and Bridgestone run with a small run-up relative to each other. At the same time, Hankook DynaPro turned out to be an absolute underdog, showing a gap of 27% behind the comparison leader.
6. Braking on bare pavement
Dry braking distanceIn this nomination, the comparison of rubber for passenger cars was also carried out on the basis of test results from different publications. The braking distance of medium-sized crossovers on a section with bare asphalt was:
Tire brand | Braking distance from a speed of 100 km/h, m |
Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season | 32,3 |
GOODYEAR Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 | 32,5 |
Hankook Tire DynaPro ATM RF10 | 33,6 |
Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684II | 34,7 |
Kumho Solus HA31 | 46,9 |
The behavior of Pirelli and GOODYEAR all-season tires allows us to speak of them as the best choice in these conditions.Quite a bit (less than a meter) they are inferior to the Hankook Tire DynaPro rubber. The Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684II lags even further behind, but still with a pretty good result. As for the Kumho Solus HA31, the tire did not perform well in this category. The clear outsider lags behind the comparison leader by a record 14.6 m.
7. Price
Retail value of the all-season tires included in the comparisonFor clarity, a table of average retail prices for all-season tires from our comparison is presented.
Tire size 255/60 R18 | Average cost, rub. |

8. Comparison results
Summing up the results of all nominationsThe all-season tires we selected for comparison demonstrated high traction on winter roads. These conditions for tires are the most difficult in year-round use, so driving performance was more evaluated taking into account winter and (importantly) minimal tread wear. The undisputed leader was the GOODYEAR Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 tires - the rubber came out the winner in 5 tests. The results of the comparison of the other four participants turned out to be very close in relation to each other. This suggests that the choice in favor of any of the applicants will be the right decision.
